U3Applications.com has closed
U3Applications.com was a repository of U3 applications created and maintainted for free for the Internet community by DStrout.net. U3 was founded by SanDisk in 2004, but was phased out starting in 2009. Even though the platform was no longer officially supported, this site continued updating and offering apps until October 2012, and offering archived versions of the apps until March 2013. However, with visitors dropping and bandwidth costs looming, the site has now been closed.
Fear not, however! Portable apps have not vanished forever from the Internet. PortableApps.com continues to provides apps that you can use on your USB flash drive. The selection is broader, there are more people working on the project, and you don't even have to have a special flash drive to use the apps, as opposed to U3. I would encourage you to check out their site to get your portable app fix. They have most of the apps I was offering, and good alternatives for the ones I wasn't. I'm sure you'll like what they have.
